Today we reviewed plucking I'm A Little Monkey. We then started to learn how to bow this song. We bowed Open A and 1 together before we ran out of time. Here are some tips to help you practice:
-Tom
- This is about precision rather than moving rushing through the song.
- Take your time on every note. Try and make it sound right. This will be long and painful at first, but will develop muscle memory.
- Try to have your child use the tips of their fingers. To do this they will have to curve the finger. We want to make sure it is the only note being played. This may be uncomfortable and even hurt a bit at first. Do your best to encourage them!
- When bowing, have them move it up and down to make it sound like the poem
- The bow can't be pressed to light or to hard. Just right.
- There will be a video posted on the resource page!
- Have fun!
-Tom
