Today we fitted the students with violins and gave them the materials they need to start playing! Some violins may go out of tune right away as they are new and take a while to be adjusted. If this happens just let me know and I will try to find time to tune it again. Some of the violins do not have fingering tape on them quite yet. I will get that done next week!
I have attached a 100 practice chart under resources. Please download and print. Return to Mr. Scott or Mme. Goettel after 100 practices and get a prize! You can return more than one in a year! How many times can you practice this year?
A few reminders about taking care of your violin:
Practice for this week (5min everyday).
See you next week!

A few reminders about taking care of your violin:
- LOOSEN YOUR BOW! If you leave it tight it could break.
- Rosin your bow before every practice (tighten first)
- Take your violin inside with you every evening!
- Take the time to maintain your violin. Your child will develop an appreciation for the instrument and form great habits! This maintenance could even count towards practice time!
Practice for this week (5min everyday).
- Get your violin ready! Is your bow tight? Did you rosin your bow?
- Play a song you are familiar with! It could be anything from last year.
- Put your violin away. Loosen your bow! Great job! All done!
See you next week!
